Keshet produced "Sababa" at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. We performed with Nomai Concept, who played live to accompany two of our new dances, "Sababa BaMidbar" and "Voice of Peace", and the evening continued with a fabulous rocking concert of Gidi Gov, Danny Sanderson, and other Kaveret/Poogy friends! |

Performed with Keshet at "The Gathering of Exiles", an event organized by the Israel Christian Nexus and hosted at Stephen S. Wise Temple. Jews and Christians remembered the bravery of both the crew and passengers who participated in the operation Aliyah Bet, which smuggled 100,000 refugees into a country that was tenaciously patrolled and guarded by seasoned British troops. Keshet Chaim performed two numbers from Neshama: Halleluyah, followed by Mourning and Diaspora, interpreted by Tsion Marciano, and Destruction, representing the Biblical Wars.

My last show in Boston was VELOCITY at the Tsai Center. I danced in balkanBLUES and easternTIDES with the Collage Dance Ensemble whom I miss terribly!

Performed at the annual New England Folk Festival, aka NEFFA! I danced in the Saturday night show with Zikukim (Israeli) and in the Sunday afternoon show with Collage (International).

Performed with Collage at the annual conference of the National Folk Organization, held this year in Lowell, MA.

January 17 and 18, 2004
Collage was one of four groups chosen to be in Dance Straight Up! at the Tsai Performance Center at Boston University. This was the world premiere of balkanBLUES. Presented by CrashARTS, a division of World Music.

Performed with Collage at the wedding reception for Larry Denenberg and Rachael Rosner at the St. James Armenian Church in Watertown. We did Eastern Tides, with a special guest appearance by Larry Denenberg in the finale.

Performed and competed in the International Golden Karagöz Folk Dances Competition in Bursa, Turkey, with the Collage Dance Ensemble! This was the first international dance festival I attended as a performer, and my first competition ever! What an amazing experience. With Collage, performed a Turkish Traditional Wedding at the Down Jersey Folklife Center at Wheaton Village in Millville, NJ. We did most of our Turkish repertoire: Bolu, Bingöl, Artvin, Semerkand, Blacksea Women as well as easternTIDES and lots of wedding rituals: meeting the in-laws, henna night, shaving the groom (Marc Neuberger!), etc.

My first tap and jazz performances since the late 80s! I was in the recital of the Studio of Creative Movement: "Can't Stop the Beat 2003" on May 18th. Fun!

May 10 and 11, 2003
I was (the obvious non-modern-dancer) in "Pax Dansare", a show at the Central Square
Dance Complex on May 10 and 11. This show featured works about Peace and War, and I was in Rozann Kraus's piece "Wars R Us" as well as Collage's Artvin suite.

I danced at NEFFA on Saturday night with the Israeli group Neshika, and on Sunday afternoon with the Israeli group Zikukim as well as in a Turkish number and a new Uzbekistani number with the Collage Dance Ensemble. If you're into folkdancing or folksinging and you haven't been to this festival before, you must check it out next year!
